Lansing Harbor Festival has a new look and a new name: CELEBRATE LANSING!

CELEBRATE LANSING! will take place at Myers Park on Saturday, August 9, 2014.

Many of the old favorites will be back such as the Floating Classroom, the Lighthouse 5K run (cancelled as of July 15) and the fishing derby to name a few. The Cornell Raptors will also be back again this year.

Our focus this year is on engaging the children in the community. There will be food vendors as well as a myriad of activities for children a youth pavilion with hands-on activities and demonstrations.

Bounce House Special

There will be at least 6 different bounce houses available for children. For $5, a child ($20 for a family of 4 or more children) will be given a bracelet that allows them unlimited access to all the bounce houses all day.

Breaking News: 5K Cancelled

We hate to do this, but as of July 15, 2014 we are canceling the 5k torunament due to scheduling challenges with the organizers.

Horseshoe Tournament

There will be a horseshoe tournament this year. The cost is $20 per team and there is a limit of 36 teams. It is a single elimination tournament.

Boat Cruises Leaving from Myers Point

The Cayuga Lake Floating Classroom will offer two 45-minute "Eco-Blast" cruises on the lake at 3:30pm and 5:00pm. Each cruise will showcase lake-study projects being undertaken by high school interns, information on invasive species such as Hydrilla and the Round Gobie now overtaking the waters around Myers Park. Hands-on activities will also be available for all ages on the boat. There is no fee, but donations are gladly accepted. Walk-ons only; no reservations. Arrive 15 minutes prior to the departure time.

Ithaca Boat Tours will offer a special 3-hour sunset and music cruise, featuring a visit to Taughannock State Park to enjoy the music of the Sim Redmond Band from the water as the sun sets.
